1999-2000

Many battles in this season. Xena and Gabrielle battle against each other and together in Heaven, Xena has a daughter, and Xena and Gabrielle are stuck in an ice cave for 25 years. A very emotional season when everything comes together at the end.


Season Five


Fallen Angel




After being crucified, Gabrielle and Xena now embark on an epic afterlife adventure. Being haunted by Callisto, they are both angelic and demonic.


Chakram




Resurrected by Eli and a newly saved Callisto, Xena and Gabrielle live again. Xena has lost her warrior ways. Can she reclaim her lethal skills?


Succession




A deadly Mavican challenges Xena, hoping to succeed her as warrior princess.


Animal Attraction




When Amarice gets sweet on a guy and Gabrielle trains a wild horse, Xena learns the unexpected news that she's expecting.


Them Bones, Them Bones




Alti's evil spirit targets the soul of Xena's unborn baby. Gabrielle and Xena must fight her in the spirit world.


Purity




Xena journeys to China once again, where she meets Lao Ma's twin daughters. One is evil and the other is not.


Back in the Bottle




Using Lao Ma's powers, Xena must defeat Chinese warlord Khan and his hordes. They're armed with deadly black powder.


Little Problems





Thanks to Aphrodite, Xena's soul is trapped inside of a young girl who has been unconscious for a long time, but Xena can still fight.


Seeds of Faith




The Twilight (end of the Greek Gods) begins. Eli opposes Ares, and he dies for it. Xena learns that Callisto will be reincarnated as her child.


Lyre, Lyre, Hearts on Fire




It's a battle of the bands in this rock musical showdown, and everybody sings. We meet Joxer's triplet brother Jace...


Punch Lines




With a severe case of writers block, Gabrielle tells Aphrodite about her day, and about getting small while relating stories of past adventures to amuse the god of despair.


God Fearing Child




Hercules helps out as Xena gives birth to Eve. Zeus decrees the child must die, and to protect Xena, Herc kills Zeus while Gabrielle is delivering Xena's daughter.


Eternal Bonds




While various gods' followers keep trying to kill Eve, Xena deals with Ares. Ares wants Xena to bear his child. Gabrielle is racing against time to save the life of a poisoned and lovesick Joxer.


Amphipolis Under Seige





In an effort to destroy Eve, Athena and her forces attack Xena's hometown. Xena decides to give in to Ares' offer and sleep with him....Does she go through with it?


Married With Fishsticks




Going Overboard, Gabrielle believes she's the wife of a Joxer-like merman and the mother of three unruly sea kids.


Lifeblood




Gabrielle arranges to make Eve an Amazon princess while Xena works to derail an Amozonian war after she and Gabrielle find out that Yakut and Amarice were killed. (Includes footage from teh unsold Amozon High pilot)


Kindred Spirits




When Joxer inadvertently breaks a few Amazonian laws, he faces a duel to the death with Xena.


Antony and Cleopatra




Cleopatra is assassinated and Xena impersonates her to discover who did it. Octavius? Brutus? Marc Antony?


Looking Death in the Eye




An old Joxer comes across Gabrielle's last scroll and he tells two of his children about the "death" of Xena and Gabrielle. He tells them what he remembered of Xena trying to fulfill and avoid the Fates' prophecy. Xena engineered Eve's "demise" by kidnapping Celesta, goddess of death. Xena and Gabrielle "died" too and Ares put them in an ice cave for their graves, not knowing that Eve was very well alive and in the hands of Xena and Gabrielle's friend, Octavius.


Livia




25 years later, Xena and Gabrielle awake in teh ice cave and find that Argo has died and that Joxer, who is married to Xena look-alike Meg, has raised Argo's daughter. Xena and Gabrielle now travel with a very old Joxer and his son Virtil to Rome. There, Xena faces an adult Eve who is now known as the woman warrior, Livia, killer of Eli's followers. Livia/Eve is in love with Ares, and Octavius is in love with her.


Eve




In a reign of terror against her mom, Livia/Eve slaughters village after village. Eventually, she kills Joxer. Can Xena save Eve from the darker angels of her nature? Obviously like mother like daughter. Xena helps Eve finally see what she's become.


Motherhood




It's the Twilight of the Gods as the Olympians seek to destroy Eve once and foreall. Xena becomes blessed with the power to kill gods when Eve is being saved and purified from all of the evil things she has done. Xena kills Poseidon, Hades, Discord, Artemis, Athena and others. Gabrielle becomes overtaken by the Furies. They make her see Hope and Joxer's ghost. All of them encourage her to kill Eve. She stabs Eve in the back with one of her sais, and Xena hits Gabrielle in the back of the head with the chakram, making the Furies leave. With Aphrodite's help, Xena takes Eve and Gabrielle up to Olympus where they die and Xena loses her power to kill gods. Ares gives up his immortality to bring the two back to life, and then Xena kills Athena. Ares is mortal at the end.
